    Default new to dream box


    i read a lot about dream box but couldnot understand how to make conection between pc and dreambox and how to add emu or keys without internet connection from pc to db .with dreamup you can flash a new image can i use dreamup to add keys emu or settings if yes how and if not any other alternative.and wich cabels to use for conection is it possible with usb i have db 7000.any help would be great as i know very little from pc utilities

    u need a ftp program to upload or use an upto date image with emus & keys ,write the ip of your dreambox in commi setup tick enable network, download dcc latest version it has all in one ftp,telnet,etc

    connect via ethernet cable, but some people have problems doing this so they opt for the rs232 as last resort. the steps have been stated as above when connected via ethernet (that's the supposed beauty of dreambox, the network connectivity).

    Not true... rs232 only used for Flash image installation, cannot install keys and any addons using rs232. You must use Network connection [FTP] to do what u want.
    Some people have problems with Network connection [PC to Dreambox] because they use straight cable that only can work with router or switch hub. You need Cross cable to connect Dreambox to PC [Directly]

    thanks now i would search a cross cable.
    but is it similiar to a modem cable and has to be conected like a telephone cable

    sorry i am not able to understad i think its romanian language and most of the dreambox section is in romanian so i would like in english section

    now i found a cross cable but un able to connect it becausethe plug rj 45 is to big to connect with pc.
    is there a solution or usb conecyion
    or have to buy a new network card?

    is your pc not installed with network card/lan card if it is then u should have no problem in connecting rj 45 otherwise buy one & install it or u will not b able to communicate with db
