    Default Satellite TV/FTA in india

    Sup guys,

I've been messing around with/testing SAT/FTA for a while in USA using many different methods.. I've only dealt with Dish Network/nagra vision/echostar with their own recievers and cams and recently have been testing with coolsat FTA recievers which do not require a cam. I am now in punjab, india and am searching for options. It is very hard to find the right information and equipment that I need in order to get things working.

Can you guys recommend some hardware for mw to start testing here? I've been reading a lot about the HUMAX series receivers but i dont think they are available in india, it seems it is intended for the UK market.

What about other FTA recievers, I know the PANSAT models support PAL/NTSC auto conversion.. Should I get the PANSAT (3500?) and experiment? Has anyone confirmed what works? I know the Doordarshan is pure FTA, but the Zee networks use some sort of encryption.. Are there other networks that are transmitting in india that I can catch?

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated..

    Thank you,

    Dear friend
As boby_coolin already mentioned that All Good channels are encrypted and not easy to hack as all r using laest encoding technology so u have to rely on these 2 options Except Cable tv
    Option 1
In Indian Punjab u can receive alot of Channels Free to air.Now its on you which Channels u like to watch. The only entertainmet channel free to air is Sahara One.Beside this many channels are Free To Air
    Zee Smile (comedy)
    Zee Music (music,Movies news)
Star Utsav (blend of Star network classic Programs)
    Many News Channels
    Etc (Music Channel)
    DD1 (u already Know)
    b4u Music (good Music Channel)
    Many Other Punjabi Music Channels
    All Pakistani Channels including
Geo tv (entertainment channel Pak no 1)
Ary Digital (whole Package alot of cricket programs)
Indus vision (whole Package)Drama,Music, lifestyle channels seprately
Hum tv (Drama Channel) and many more.
    Many Music Channels
and many more channels u can see with
a Good 8 feet dish and FTA receiver.(all these channels are C band)
    Option 2
If u like zee network plus Hbo Starsports and more
then u can subscribe Indian DTH dishtv at very reasonable price (using Conax).or for all info regarding Dishtv India
    login at
Dishtv Now starts its MOD(movie on demand )channel too
beside this This package includes all the channels which i mentioned above.
At the moment my Advice is Purchase Dishtv India (as very reasonable in India)
or if U can wait for 2 or 3 months to have all StarTv (starplus, starmovies, starsports,v,ng and more) on T-sky at reasoable price in india).
