Default Viewing Dream TV (Agila 2) with DVR

I have tried viewing Dream Tv with my DVR for purpose of recording programs. After making connections I get sound, the picture comes in for a second then goes to a white screen. I have no problem viewing other satellites through my DVR ( Panamsat 7/10, TelKom 1, etc.) and recording. Is the signal NTSC? Thanks.

    HI GREG,
THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE ANSWER :
THE CHANNELS YOU HAVE BEEN RECORDING ARE ALL IN PAL SYSTEM.
DREAM IS BROADCAST IN US SYSTEM NTSC AND I BET YOU YOUR PVR IS NOT NTSC COMPATIBLE....MOST PAL DVD/HARD DISK RECORDERS SOLD IN PAL COUNTRIES SUCH AS THE LG DVD RECORDER IS PAL SYSTEM ONLY.
SO YOUR SOLUTION, SHOULD YOU THINK IT WORTHWHILE, IS TO USE A NTSC TO PAL SYSTEM CONVERTER ( I HAVE ONE AND THEY ARE AVAILABLE QUITE CHEAPLY NOWADAYS ) AND RECORD THE SIGNAL ONCE ITS BEEN CONVERTED TO PAL.

Thanks C-band. My DVR is made by Sony and I've found that it wouldn't record NTSC. I'll look into that converter. Thanks again.

    You have an Angelbox right.

On the angelbox with the remote control press 'menu' (enter your password if you need to), then select 'system set up', then go to 'tv system'

The on 'TV select' change from AUTO to what ever PAL your DVR supports (most likely PAL I ir PAL G for Thailand) by pressing your left and right arrow keys.

Works a treat, Bob over the at Bobs BBQ used one for a while from memory before he went to a pci card and a huge hard disk.

Happy New Year and all the best for 2006

BY GOLLY....SORRY....BY GOSH .....KUBAND IS RIGHT !
THE ANGELBOX DOES WORK AS A SYSTEMS CONVERTER !
    I TESTED IT AS FOLLOWS.
I CONVERTED THE SIGNAL FROM THE ANGELBOX TO PAL ON DREAM.
I THEN PUT MY TV ON NTSC.....AND THE PICTURE SHOWN WAS BLACK AND WHITE PROVING THE ANGELBOX HAD IN FACT CONVERTED THE NTSC TO PAL.
AS A CONFIRMATION, I PUT MY TV INTO PAL MODE AND THE COLOUR RETURNED PROVING CONCLUSIVELY THAT THE ANGELBOX AND POSSIBLY OTHER KOREAN BOXES CAN CONVERT AN NTSC SATELLITE SIGNAL TO PAL.
    THANKS KUBAND.
