Oh yes we should that's evolution, man, if you don't keep up, if you don't innovate, if you don't align your prices to the market, you die.

Gone are the days when DMM was the market.

Agree javrica, their own prices got'em.
@mateibasarab nothing to wait for, they are really not on the ANGA list as Dream or Dream Multimedia.. unless they are in rebranding process.

Yes, you are right. At the moment it is really so that nothing new comes from DMM.
But I still hope that the situation changes with Goliath.
    We'll see ...

Some may say there is a battle line drawn between home gateway and over-the-top services, but anticipating the bigger picture of hybrid solutions, Conax has launched a software development kit (SDK) containing Microsoft PlayReady DRM solution for OTT clients.

The multi-device and digital video content protection specialist says that the SDK will be able to manage all communication between the streaming server and the native player with additional layers of security.

It adds that its implementation for MS PlayReady conforms to Microsoft's rules for compliance and robustness as well as the security requirements from Hollywood studios and content providers.

Conax recognises that the PlayReady protocol is a standard compatible with most consumer devices and systems on the market today. To that end its security-hardened implementation is said to embrace advanced security technologies such as obfuscation, trip wires, variability, renewability, secure storage, secure time and optimised cryptography among other features.

"While OTT services have the potential to enable content aggregators to capitalise on new revenue streams, anytime/anywhere consumer services must be transported securely to OTT devices such as tablets or smartphones or traditional STBs to ensure protection of content and revenues," explained Tom Jahr, Conax's EVP products & partners. "[The] Conax Secure Client provides the framework for content distributors to seamlessly integrate Conax world class content protection technology into their OTT operation with best-of-breed security for their premium content," he added.

This year’s ANGA COM ended with 450 exhibitors and a record 17,000 participants, of which 50% came from abroad.

1,700 of the participants took also part in the accompanying congress programme. Thus, the rade show for Broadband, Cable & Satellite has increased the last year’s participant numbers for the congress and the exhibition of 6 %.

“This year, ANGA Cable has become ANGA COM. The new name even better reflects our two thematic pillars, broadband and media. This was also clearly visible in the exhibition hall. In addition to the traditional cable and satellite technology, the roll-out of fiber, IPTV, Video on Demand, software solutions and consumer electronics have become integral parts of our exhibitors’ product range. We’re especially pleased with the success of the Connected Home special, which we organized in cooperation with the BITKOM association,” said Thomas Braun, president of the hosting ANGA Association of German Cable Operators.

Herbert Strobel, chairman of the Satellite & Cable Trade Association within the German Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industry ZVEI is also very satisfied with the show: “Yet again, the event has proven an impressive success, with the consistent thematic evolution towards ANGA COM contributing to that. As the market place for network operators, suppliers and broadcasters ANGA COM will remain the industry highlight of the year for our manufacturers and systems providers.”

Dr. Peter Charissé, managing director ANGA COM: “Our latest ideas, the new ANGA COM brand and the new topic ‘Connected Media Home’ have taken off. What our 450 exhibitors put in place was top class. Each year, our visitor structure is becoming more diverse and increases in quality.”

ANGA COM 2014 will take place from 20 to 22 May 2014, again in Cologne (Germany).
