I took a 1020a on holiday to Phuket and used a 1 metre dish, offset, ku.
I could not find 146 dream.
I dont think Bangkok and Thailand is within the footprint.
Only Vietnam to the west and China up north to Beijing.

I can receive Dream TV here in Pattaya, but not all channel reception is the same. Most come in fine, but movie channels (HBO, STAR MOVIES and CINEMAX) I receive a weaker signal and appear broken or freezing.

Reception in out of footprint areas depends entirely on dish size !
What size and make is your dish ?
In Pattaya a 7-8 footer is just not big enough for 24 hour reception of Agila 2 KU.

Well, I guess I'm screwed! My dish is a 7.5 move with a 5.5 fixed. Installers and tech support never mentioned this. They have a 10 footer. I've had my system for only 3 weeks and the more I learn the more disappointed I beginning to feel with this purchase. Thanks

MAKE OF DISH IS ALSO IMPORTANT AS INSTALLERS SAY THAT A DYNASAT EXTRA IS AS GOOD AS A PSI DISH THAT IS TWO **** LARGER !

NO, AS LONG AS ONE HAS THE SPACE, A SMALLER DISH IS NEVER A WASTE OF MONEY AS IT CAN BE USED AS A SECOND FIXED DISH FOR OTHER STRONGER RECEPTION SATELLITE CHANNELS. A DISEQC SWITCH LETS YOU SELECT THE DISH YOU WANT AUTOMATICALLY.

YOU MIGHT END UP WITH 15 DISHES (LNB'S) LIKE ME BUT IT SAVES HANGING AROUND WAITING FOR THE DISH TO MOVE.

Not sure of the maker of my dish, but was purchased through JSAT in Bangkok. Talk to them earlier today about my problem and said it probably is an obstruction like a tree, but why can I receive some channels with a strong signal and others with a slightly weaker signal?

ANSWER IN ONE WORD ...THE FOOTPRINT AND ITS STRENGTH.
IT IS PUBLISHED ON THE SATELLITE'S WEB SITE AND IN LYNGSAT.COM
LOOK AT AGILA KU BEAM ......THE FOOTPRINT DOES NOT COVER PATTAYA OR EVEN THAILAND SO YOU ARE RECEIVING THE SPILL OVER.

    THE AGILA WEBPAGE SAYS:
Agila II has 24 high-power Ku-band transponders covering China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines

    SEE http://www.mabuhaysat.com/sat&net.html

THINK ABOUT IT. WE CAN FROM 100 DEGREES EAST EASILY PICK UP PANAMSAT 2 AT 169 DEGREES EAST......69 DEGREES AWAY.

IF WE COULD SEE 69 DEGREES TO THE WEST WE COULD IN THEORY PICK UP SKY DIGITAL FROM THE UK !!!

BUT NOT EVEN A 100 **** DISH COULD DO THAT.

WHY ? BECAUSE THE BEAM IS NOT DIRECTED AT THAI AS PAS 2'S BEAM IS. SKY CAN HARDLY REACH GREECE NEVERMIND ASIA.

    TRUST THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION,GREGG
