    If one keeps on adding to the list of such receivers, it become a long one, and will not stop there.

    The receivers (or STBs) are supposed to be FTA only. One may not find an official site that offers updates for hacking pay channels. One finds a web address on the box that is non-existant. For the software of such receivers, one has to dig into www to reach unofficial sites that offer such software.

    The software upgrades that are available on official websites will be for features enhancements or for bug fixes only. Only the top end receiver manufacturers keep a good and consistant website for support and provide such upgrades. Echostar is one such example.

    Many receiver look different on the outside, but actually are the same
    at the inside. (most chinese type's)

    So instead of making a list of not "friendly"receivers.... better make a list of uptodate receivers from producers who are "pro-free to air"...

    I am still waiting on a producent who produces a receiver with the next futures;

    1, CI
    2, embedded multicam
    3, blindscan
    4, Low Treshold
    5, supersensitive tuner (shown in the tele-sat test tuner; sensetivity at least a 9)
    6, usb for hdd purpose (not build in HDD)
    7, rs323 for external steering via computer
    8, large display with multiple datainfo
    9, mechanical actuator and polarizer output
    Welll.. there are stil some more wishes but.

    So actually a fortec star ultimate plus comes near, but has no polarizer and/or actuator output, also the tuner needs more sensetivity.

    Succes with our hobby
