According to enterprise management company Good, Apple’s iPad and iPhone accounted for 79.9 percent of all enterprise customer activations in the first quarter of 2012.
The iPhone 4S was the device that was most po....r with Good’s customers, accounting for 37 percent of activations. The iPad 2 accounted for 17.7 percent of activations, the iPhone 4 was responsible for 15.2, and Apple’s newest iPad, which has only been out for a few weeks, was responsible for 12.1 percent of activations during March, and 4.3 during the entire quarter..
The first generation iPad and the iPhone 3GS are still po....r devices, with 2.8 and 2.5 percent of activations, respectively. After Apple’s devices, the Motorola Droid, the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Google Nexus each represent a small number of activations.
What does this mean? That Apple’s devices are becoming increasingly po....r with the enterprise crowd. Apple’s tablet enjoys an almost exclusive hold, and no Android-based tablets were found on the top 10 Good Technology devices list.
In fact, a whopping 97.3 percent of tablet activations during the first quarter of 2012 were from Apple’s line of iPads, and they were especially po....r in financial services, business and professional services, and life sciences.
