    Default Running Dreambox on limited data package


    Does the dreambox draw internet data when in standby mode(showing clock)? I am currently having limited data internet package

    yes maby on 24h 5-10 mb
    running Dm 24h need 1 month 250-350 mb

    No stand-by mode is just that, While the clocks and setting retention is operating, The actual receiver is not.

    It's no different to a TV or DVD player on stand-by mode.

    nope Dreambox on standby mode can run Cardsharing ore also run 1 channel you can aktivate with Webif but box show red light on Display

    That being the case it's not on "Stand-By" mode. A switch mode power supply
    has a secondary circuit, with a very small limited output, This is to allow the setting to be retained and the clock to operate. It won't allow a voltage at the LNB, or the software to be operational.
    For any satellite receiver or anything else for that matter, to operate it's systems then it must be in operational mode with a fully working power supply. This is not possible without switching the thing on.
    Unplug the thing from the wall and the channel information will remain in the software, but the clocks and any timer settings will be lost.

    I run a couple of Beyonwiz hard drive recorders, these are connected to a computer modem for program up-dates, I can also program them for recording via the computer, or by dialing the modem, with a mobile phone, and entering the programming keys. My point is, none of this is possible in "stand-By " mode
