    Default DECODER V/S DTH Boknoy_Ph

    Dear Boknoy_ph,
why Dth prices and its monthly subscription is much lower then the decoder beside the fact that DTH have more channels than any decoder.

im not sure i got your question correctly. if you are asking why ordinary FTA receiver with patches (which has more channels) are much cheaper than original STB with legal subscription (with limited viewing capacity), the answer is simple. the FTA receiver with patches don't have to pay for uplink, transmission, encryption systems plus program royalties and rights compared to a legally owned subscription.

if you buy a BMW car from Bavaria, ship it at your own expense (of course), pay customs and duty fees (add to that some under-the-table money), it would cost more than if you buy the same BMW from a local dealer. i hope im making some sense here. your local DTH will obtain the rights to a specific broadcast, and pay royalties per subscriber. multiply that by the thousands of subscribers and the end result would be that customers get to pay less for the same service.
