Macedonia name issue resolved by June - report

The 19-year-long name dispute between Macedonia and Greece is about to be resolved. On the eve of the opening of the new negotiations between Macedonia and Greece the resolution of the name issue can be seen, Macedonian Kirilica online edition reported, citing Swedish radio.

The name dispute prevented Macedonia from accessing NATO and opening of the EU accession talks. Long negotiations were held and now the proposed name The Republic of North Macedonia can be the resolution of the name issue, commentary of the radio reads. According to the radio, for the first time a Greek minister pointed to the name as an acceptable resolution. A new circle of negotiations will be opened in the middle of the month but there is information that the name dispute can be resolved before June, the Swedish radio reported, cited by Kirilica.
