I have seen in other forum about Hotbird reception in Sri Lanka by using a 20FT dish. It's surely available in Kerala(India) using a 16FT dish. But Arabast C & KU band are surely available using a 12FT or more dish.
    Good Luck!

I have this 20 **** dish in Sri Lanka (Hikkaduwa) and I try to get Hotbird.
But until now I have tested different equipment only for the reception of Arabsat KU-Band and it's still not complete because of bad weather.
I still have problems with the horizontal polarisation.
    Thereafter I will try Hotbird.
With my "small" 10 **** mesh dish for C-Band I get at least 28 Satellites from Arabsat C-Band @ 26° up to Agila2 @146°. Some satellites like Sinosat 1 @110,5° I have not tried, because there is nothing interesting on C-Band.

    Hi pagram,
please see my earlier post - the 3rd in this thread.
Until now I have tested smart lnb (offset) 0,2db
    invacom prime focus lnb 0,3db
invacom offset lnb 0,3db (until now strongest signal)
smw x-line lnb 0,8db (with this lnb the signal level is more stable)
and I still have to try chaparral corotor with different lnbs.
But we have still too bad and stormy weather.
So I need some more time.

Also one more question: anyone knows how to calculate a subreflector?
