    Exclamation CCCam Jargons


    Any expert of the CCCam please tell me what are the meanings of Hop, Node and local.

    Well it seems experts are busy - let me, a total layman, say some thing.

    1- Local means where a person has the original subscription card to offer for sharing.
    2- Hop refers to a stage of onward sharing of a local card....if permitted in configuration by the earlier share-offering person. From local to first sharing person...it would be hop-1 with the second person. And if second person onward offers the same for sharing (if allowed), then the 3rd. person would be on hop-2 & so on.

    3- Nodes probably means number of clients connected.

    Local = your own card, being shared
    Hop = as with the internet, hop means the number of connections between you and that card. hop 0 means you own it, hop 1 comes from your friend (his own card) and hop2 comes from your friend's friend (and goes on and on....)
    Node = verbatim, is simply a connection point.

    Thanks for the valuable infos, some of the C lines does not have Hop what does it mean?

    as explained, if you do not use hop, or hop 0 (zero) that means it's your local card.
