Default ESPN to launch first 3D network, starting with 2010 World Cup

EPSN says it will launch the industry’s first 3D television network this year, broadcasting at least 85 live sporting events starting on June 11 with the 2010 World Cup. EPSN says they have been testing 3D for over two years, including a 3D theater broadcast of a USC-Ohio State football game back in Sept. 09.
Up to 25 matches in the 2010 World Cup South Africa will be broadcast for the first time in 3D, starting with South Africa versus Mexico. Other planned 3D broadcasts include the Summer X Games, the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, college football and college basketball.
“ESPN 3D marries great content with new technology to enhance the fan’s viewing experience and puts ESPN at the forefront of the next big advance for TV viewing,” said ABC Sports president George Bodenheimer.

Frumos! Cred ca nici europenii nu or sa astepte prea mult sa treaca si la 3D. Mai greu cu Romanica, unde, in ciuda faptului ca s-au vandut foarte multe TV-uri HD Ready, in afara de UPC cable nu mai ofera nimeni pachete HD.
