DTH Television Group, the operator of the Romanian satellite platform Boom TV, has accumulated net losses of €73 million in the last three years. What is more, according to a report in ZF, its debts now stand at over €80 million.
Although the Israeli-owned company secured a loan of €18.5 million from Unicredit Tiriac Bank last year, it is understood to be looking for new investors in order to improve Boom TV’s position in an increasingly competitive marketplace. It was reported at one stage that Romtelecom, the operator of Dolce TV, Romania’s second most successful platform, was interested in buying Boom TV, though this is apparently no longer the case.
Boom TV is believed to have around 300,000 subscribers.
