please help,humax vaci 5300

i have a humax vaci 5300 that is dead,does anybody know where there is alternative software file to reactivate it,also which type of cable needed,straight through,or 2/3,3/2,5/5.
any help much appreciated.

2/3,3/2,5/5 is OK, it's called null modem cable. The software to load the firmware into recever is HZU2.0 Just load the original software, there's no patch for it.
