Shame about all the previous posts.
With a bit of luck my Skystar 2 card should arrive Sunday. I seem to remember you said the full program DVB viewer should be used, and not the one provided with the card. Is the program I’m after the 24mb free download or the professional one you have to pay for?
At the moment I’ve got a dish for hotbird. Could you suggest any other satellites that may be of interest to an English speaker living in Oman.

for the full version DVBViewer which supports MD plugins also, we have to pay for it. but it can be downloaded via p2p networks or on some websites on internet. But better use MyTheatre or ProgDVB instead.
If you are living in Oman, why not to try Nilesat and Arabsat on your same dish of hotbird (adding two more lnb's in it), you will get a lot of arab channels plus MBC2 channels which shows english movies with arabic subtitles.

Actualy Haupauge WinTV Nexus-s is enhanced version of TT SkyStar-1. Both work fine with CI adapotor, no problem. what more, my friend ?

DVBViewer which is shipped with SkyStar2 cd also and ALT-DVB, both can do blind search without knowing symbole rate, but at least you have to know the satellite name and your SkyStar-2 card must be rev.2.3 all other models donot support blind search. If you dont know the satellite name, you have to do a blind search on all those satellites which you can guess that can be accessed in your area or most favourite of your dish installer.

Finally i got my self a PCI-DVB card (Broadlogic 2030) but unfortunately i can't watch encypted channel like Dr*am tv.I use Progdvb and download in the same folder all the plugins that i need like the latest softcam key,Fenrir and Yankse.I also tried the latest S2Emu but still no luck.Pls. help me!

Congratulation on having a PC DVB Card.
You wont need all these plugins at a time. Juts install ProgDVB, put latest S2emu and a latest copy of softcam.key file which includes the latest wokirng key for Dream tv. thats all.

Do you get data channels loaded when you scan the bird?
If so, click on one of them, then use pid scanner, the pids should appear.
Put them into a provider file, then stat File grabber with that providor!!
Make sure you have your in, out and working files set up!

Which PC card are you using ?
File Grabber does not work with cards having on-board MPEG decoder.

Thats what I want to discuss with you........ the CI adapter....... but not with progDVB since ProgDVB crash with my other software.

After doing soo much try and error, more than 18 hours, I deside to use DVBDream v087 for my new Nexus-s.
FYI, I try with 085, 086, and 086a ............ on my new Nexus with ABIT NV7-133R mother board, 1.2G AMD athlon, 256 MB RAM, run stable only with ProgDVB and DVBDream087. Many times I reinstall codecs and the nexus driver after the 085, 086 hanged. DVBDream 086a cannot installed with this config. So I am forced to use DVBDream087.
And so............. I am quite sure that NOT EVERY DVB CARD COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY SOFTWARE AND EVERY MOTHER BOARD AND EVERY PROCESSOR. and ....... what next?
The CI adapter not connected yet.............. don't know what will happend if it connected.
Have any idea?

Yes, some people are doing autoroll Dream TV with their dvb cards with the correct working files but unfortunately i dont have those files. :(

i use Mytheatre something to do with packet size 184 not supported for dr*am
get latest snitch modify eeprom.bin in snitchcard directory with 4e01 4f01
keys from someones eeprom dump with n*graedit cut and paste between 2 sets of same prog running or emmstudio keys.ini
get latest yankse
get mdwrapper to put them in (make directorys Plugins for mdwrapper and MDplugins for yankse and snitch plus sub dirs.)
get settings from lyngsat
au only works on xp for me with 1020a

The CI module works with ProgDVB and also in DVBDream087.
I don't even think that simple.
Seems the picture of Nexus is better than SS2. Just an auto sugestion or it really better?

Nexus-s is modified and enhanced version of SkyStar-, so it is better and i recommened it :) SkyStar-2 is not a comparison to SS-1/Nexus-S, it is budget card, w/o MEPG-2 decoder chip.

I got my skystar 2 card installed and running with dvb Viewer. I downloaded ProgDVB, but when I install it I get the error message ‘Device not Started’ any idea what I’m doing wrong? :(

Check that no other s/w is already attached to the card.
Some s/w closes any other application attached to the card but ProgDVB doesn't AFAIK.

also make sure that when you install ProgDVB, during installation when asked you select the proper card "SkyStar-2" in the option menu and dont click the box which says "register th...ax for twinhan compatibel card".

so it looks that PC DVB card is much better than current code menu receivers as it can also decode those channels which can be decoded by CAMs
as i have fortecstar code menu receiver & it can decrypt TPS, Polsat, SRG etc on Hotbird (but can't decrypt cyfra+, sky itlaia, FullX channels, FreeX etc)
But can u name those channels which can be decoded by CAM's (Magic, Zeta, Joker, Matrix reloaded etc)
And can a pc dvb card decode the all hacked channels (either on CAMs or fun cards)
Is there any option for blind scan PC DVB card as in the case for fortecstar lifetime ultra
And does Skystar2 card has CI slots?

Make sure you install DirectX9 and Audio video codec before you install the software.

Some remote works in ProgDVB, you can try in Options menu, control and train the keys.
But can u name those channels which can be decoded by CAM's (Magic, Zeta, Joker, Matrix reloaded etc)
And can a pc dvb card decode the all hacked channels (either on CAMs or fun cards)
all the channels which are hacked and available on Cards/CAMs can be emulated/opened on PC DVB cards.
Is there any option for blind scan PC DVB card as in the case for fortecstar lifetime ultraSkyStar-2 rev.2.3 can do a BlindScan on given range of frequencies without knowing symbole rates. it auto detects the symbol rates on frequncies.
And does Skystar2 card has CI slots? SkyStar-2 doesnot have a built-in CI, but VP-1030 does. but SkyStar-2 and SkyStar-1 can use an additional CI add-on cards.

I suppose what you mean is Nexus-s and SkyStar1 can use additional CI adapter. SkyStar2 doesn't have any connector for it.

i finally bought a dvb card twinham vision plus from inspire of ur pst.
i try to install and finaly able to watch hotbird(including multi..polsat)
i have a problum. when recive fta on hot bird. its all clear reception.
but when i want to recieve scrambeld channel like multi.pol. cine...
chanels scrathes like old cd playing i reinsatll every thing. download mpeg2 decoder. but all in fail.
please help me to solve this

Congratulations on buying a DVB card and its succfull installation. It might be becayse of you are using more plugins at the same time. Try using one Plugin at a time, either yankse or s2emu. Another solution is to try MyTheatre, it is more stable than ProgDVB.

A PCI CI adaptor should look like the image belwo and MyTheatre and ProgDVB should support it if the drivers are properly installed. I haven't tried it personally but i will ask some friends who have used it.

I saw that pcmcia to pci adapter somewhere when I want to program my magic cam with computer pcmcia, Very nice if we can use the same adapter for this purpose. Will be better if we can get other model with the slot at the front of the CPU case, easyer to handle the CAM, something like Audigy2 Platinum. I try to get this adapter, jakarta don't have.

Hi MIG_PILOT, if I may reply too? My friend Saed will also advise too shortly I think!!
All cards, will come with basic operating software. It is the 'aftermarket' software that will enable you to make more chioce in how you use the card. I will not recommend a software, but I use Progdvb here for example....
Basically I think really, you would only use the original drivers for your card, and then make use of differant software..

i am using only s2emu and soft key, last night i check that it is smoothly work on panamsat at 68.5, but when i try on hot bird, its result as old.
but i will try Mytheatre , i add that i am using win 98 at the time, but i also try win xp. but in vain.
and i try to scan pids on panamsat, not sucess, can u suggest some fresh frequencies on c-band.

Welcome to RDI-sat, to wacth encrypted channels you have to download 3rd party software with some plugins.
Try ProgDVB and/or MyTheatre with S2Emu and/or Yankse plugin with the latest softcam.key file. thats all.
For 1-way satellite internet you have to subscribe to some satellite internet service provider.

Thanks. There is no building called Plaza Roxy Mas in that area.
What we can found at Roxy area are:
- ITC Roxy Mas : no computer shop in the main building , only hand phone. Beside that building there are some Ruko, one of them is Rubicom Computer I didn't visit yet.
- Roxy Square. Sell everything from Needle / Jarum pentul till Cars.
I got an info that DVBViewer, software that comes bundled with the SkyStar2 card can do Blind Scan even with SS2 Board Ver2.6C.........
I am not sure ....... will check after this.

Please use Sonic Video Codec for your Twinhan.
It will lower the CPU usage.
DVBDream v0.8.7 is nice to use.

You can use Progdvb. Use following links to download.

http://www.dvbsoft.net.. here you can find S2emu last version. Download softcam.key from RDI home page.
Put both s2emu and softcam in progdvb directory.

i want to purcahse the item above. my primarily use is listening to fm radio, watching sky and digital tv in the uk. that item lets me receive all 3 facilitiees right? it has sat. internet facilities but im not too concered about that.
i am particulary intrested in encryption encoding since i work with security
from sellers info. can i watch sky channels? without a viewing card? or as for the dvb pci which has a cam slot, i can plug my exiting sky card subsciption in to the pci card and watch my channel subscriptoips right?

hello people i have installed a ss2 card which i bought from ebay brand new a month ago. i bought thinking i can get uk scrammbled channels but came to realise that its not possible. so now i want to watch channels on 19.2 astra like kisokue or something or some english channels which ever they are but i dont know how to crypt it?? and i get the data files but i have no idea what to do with it.
anyway im indian and i love my inidan channels zee tv .... star.... and im buying a 1.2mtr satellite dish in few weeks time and id like to ask if it is possible to crypt zee tv and star and sony on hotbird?? and any ideaa what type of dish is the best.

Put softcam.key in main directory and .ini (transponders) in Transponders folder.
For viewing encrypted channels ( on your own responsibility!!) you have to put s2emu.dll in main directory.
you can download s2emu and softcam from http://www.dvbsoft.net
I have not used mytheater so i cannot tell somthing about it :!:

The Broadcast plugins are coming with progDVB!

If you cannot get the server/client prog dvb thing to work, have a google for VLC software. I have used it here, thru my network, and it seems ok.
Not omly for the DVB stuff, but DVD or Saved mpeg etc...

Just tried to re-install SkyStar 2 after a layoff doing other things. Completely screwed up my computer! Had to do a System Restore to get anything, including internet, working again
What do you suggest ? Maybe a plain old format then re-install everything fresh?

I think , you are missing about hash table for s2emu or your dump card is not valid.

You need Snitchcard plug-in ...
There is a great programe called CAPI. It opens almost all CSD channels on Astra (Taquilla, Cine +...) and Cyfra, Sky Italia and even some of Polsat on Hotbird. Over 50 channels with great movies and series in english. If you can`t open some channels try shutting down ProgDVB on that channel and turning it back on, it should work. Both SS-2 and Nexus-s are better, Nexus-s have some more advantages over SS-2 like Audio/Video out, onboard built-in decoder etc but it is not suitable for offline data grabbing.

Easy step...
1.Plug your PCI card in your computer then turn it on.
2.Windows will automatic detect new hardware then you need a VP-PCI Driver by insert CD Driver abd follow as displayed insturction.
3.Installing Progdvb.
4.Add LNB and Scan Channel..
5.Close ProgDVB
6.Extract Yanse Plug-in in to Progdvb folder.
7.Extact the lastest and update softcam.key in to Progdvb folder.
8.Now, you screen will get the picture..
9.If you want to automatic update key... you need a AU Software like .. S2emu , snitchcard etc...

to get Snitch working ...
You need a valid Subscription card .
then using software like "Sosia" to dump data from card..
You need to replace this file in SnitchCard folder ,.. i 'm not sure name ... may be eeprom.bin or rom.bin please try it...
Or if you have a old rom dump.. to get it work , you need to update it with EMMStudio3.0
==>Software need Mytheater & EMM Extractor link NagEmmex20(for Nagra Provider ) or SecaEMM (for SECA Provider)
First, logging PID data from Mytheater
then extract EMM with EMM Extractor..
Next ,now load it into emmstudio. insert your bin and name it properly into emmstudio.
now simply goto update/key in emmstudio. choose your rom image. update. once it finished processing the emms. save the bin ( to the one in emmstudio. and update again. save and repeat it.. until image is fully updated..

What type of MOSC that you have. Is it a ROM 10 or 11. What is the revision number. Did you able to open the contents of the card? If so, can you give me a hint. I got mine(expired) ROM10 @ REVA82. I almost gave-up finding software to break this card.

Go to option, diseq, add sat, then go to Channels, search the channels.
You will get the signal.
Don't forget to sellect the appropriate Video, Audio Codec and Video renderer from the option menu.

Make a dump of the card by using a Card Programmer, read the keys and share. thats all.

Try some combination of your Codecs. Video/Audio/Video Renderer to minimize switching delay. then get rid the un-used codec to make the system more stable.

Latest S2Emu should open these channels as long as they are encrypted in NeotionSHL, if it is not opening then there is no solution.

i have no current news about these channels that the are still encrypted in NeotionSHL or not. If they are still using it then any one of S2Emu, Capi, Yankse or Shlcrypt can open it otherwise no chance.

MDPlugin = MultiDec compatible plugins, MultiDec is being the standard for plugins written for DVB applications.
For MT, some versions works in MDPlugin folder and some in just Plugins folder and some for root. try all options to get it worked :)

sorry for a delay reply. I suppose that you are living in a rural area some wherein Middle East where there is no telephone lines, and you still want to use internet via satellite. You have to go for a 2-way satellite internet in which both uplink and downlink are made via satellite. The method which is given by Shelly is called 1-way satellite internet in which you need a dial-up or dsl to send an uplink request and downlink are made via satellite.
2-way costs more than 1-way internet both for hardware and also for its subscription. You can find a lots of 2-way satellite subscriber in Middle East which are even more cheaper now. Example are Orbit net and ShowTime Internet.

FileGrabber is available on ProgDVB's download page at http://www.progdvb.com
Download PIDScanner also, Run PIDScanner on Data channels and note down the PIDs, now run DataGrabber and put the PIDs you noted down earlier and wait for the data to be grabbed. :)

in 1-Way satellite uplink is done via modem/telephone line, in 2-way both uplink and downlink made via satellite without using any telephone line.
Offline data (random) grabbing is not like using internet (browsing, chatting etc.) it is just grabbing the data of others subscribed users what ever they are using.

Hacking 1-way or 2-way satellite internet is not realy hacking into it. What i mean is just to use some others DVB Cards MAC address, his username and passwords and thats all. :) not realy recommended for a commercial use like you because it is not reliable. Can be used only for testing, thats all :)

for a 2-way satellite internet you will not need any dial-up modems or telephone lines, everything is from satellite. Only the hardware is more costly than 1-way. but it is one time investment only. an approx. idea for the cost of the hardware for 2-way satellite internet is arround 900us$ or less. Depends on the equipments brand and maker. Also try to visit http://www.broadsat.com for more info on 2-way satellite hardware and cost.
I realy dont recommend stealing of others bandwidth over satellite, better use offline data grabbing instead, it is no harm to others :)

I think your video system is the bottleneck, get a 128MB AGP Radeon VGA Card. Also check for viruses.
You can check for bottlenecks by Windows Task manager.

as Boknoy said most of the brodcasting softwares wont allow to view more than one channel at a time but their are some who can do the job but the performance will become realy poor. Leme find a good solution for you.

thanks for the info, will check em out. i got info from s@tkid about a shop in an area here who sells ss2 dvb-s for approx 150$ apiece. if that costs too high for my budget, then maybe ill go online to the shops and see what the credit card can do hehe. this toshiba laptop cost me a camel's head to begin with and now my pockets are bleeding!

based on my limited knowledge of receivers, here's what i have to say:
if your dvb-s card has a single tuner, naturally you will be able to broadcast only a channel at a time, even if the channels reside on a single frequency feed. the only solution i can think of so that you can multicast multiple channel at the same time is installing additional dvb-s cards on your system and running multiple instances of your dvb softwares and then broadcast that into your lan accordingly.
my best guess therefore, should Saed be able to find a crack for your broadcast server, the result will be that you will still be broadcasting a single channel but enable a lot more client to view your broadcast. even the dvbstream software for linux does not offer multiple channel broadcast, only multiple viewers. in theory, a 10mb-lan can carry a single audio/video transmission or 8 audio transmission. more than that and your network will bog down with lots of traffic collissions resulting to packet loss.
with regards to your query on satellite internet, 1800 euros is quite reasonable. dreamtv networks in philippines offers their sat modem for approx 1300$us, exclusive of the subscription fees. really mate, if you want to do business in a grand scale such as this, then INVEST properly. buy the right equiptment, get the legal software and obtain the subscriptions for your satellite channel broadcasts if needed.
hope i have cleared a bit of what looks like a muddy business situation.
yeah i agree with boknoy, only one channel at a time but Shelleys problem is to broadcast to more than one client at a time.

he will need at least a dvb multiplexer of some sort to do that. i really suspect that his network cannot take on the load of channel broadcasting (a single channel eats up at least 4Mbps of bandwidth). progdvb has the capability to transfer that, and once your broadcast on a specific IP, there is no question that whomever is listening to the IP stream will be able to get the broadcast. which brings us back to why only two clients can listen in on his broadcast? have him try broadcasting an audio stream, as this is less bandwidth hugger, and see if he can make other clients listen in. or maybe he did not configure the other clients properly to tune to the IP broadcast.
there's just so many variables that this kind of error can happen. (a loud explosion just happened here in kuwait and the level3 siren sounded.)

i have one question though, are his clients on a pc? if so, then all he needs is progdvb as it has a built-in module for broadcasting to the LAN. if his clients are on a pc, then here's the step for his progedvb.
1. on progdvb/settings, click on module list and tick on the Broadcast Server. then click on Properties.
2. for properties, you have to input your server (PC running the dvb-s channel) IP. normally, it should be 192.168.0.255. take note that i specifically input 255 as the last value as progdvb has some sort of bug that will not accept transmission on other IP address. specify the ports and modify your firewall to accept incoming connections at the port you specify.
3. click ok on everything, restart your progdvb and it should already be broadcasting.
4. on the client pc, run progdvb and go to settings/device list. select broadcast CLIENT. then input the corresponding server IP and port values.
5. click OK and the broadcast should be received immediately or restart progdvb as needed.
but IF your clients are watching on tv sets, then im sorry mate but you have to purchase hardware multiplexer.
the progdvb solution still will not solve your single channel viewing, you have to run multiple dvb-s cards on your system and run also multiple progdvb to broadcast your channels on a single IP but should be set on different PORTS.

They also have SS1/CI($120), SS2 Dvb pci($100), VP/CI and VP1020a. You are right, that store is located at the basement.

my dvb broadcasting is workinf fine.there r 3 options in it
1.tcp/ip broadcast
2.broadcast
3.multicast
first two options work properly but the 3rd option , its quality is not too good.while playing channels on 3rd option takes breath and the server goes hang.same providing only two clients, i discussed with my friend in GERMANY for multiplexer,and he answered possitive,may be after some days i will get it then i will check .
one more thing bfrom where i should buy the registration of dvb video server module in order to broadcast more than two clients or plz tell any simple way.

ur server will hang because of the bandwidth bottleneck most probably on your network.

Bokniy is right, you need a good server computer and a good switch to handle your network traffic, a full-duplex 100mbps on each end i think.. :)

even a gigabit lan setup if he can afford it. most switches are capable of handling 100mb lan traffic anyhow, all he has to do is set it up for 100mb full-duplex and he really has to have a nice brand of cat-5 cable for loss-free operation. but anything is flexible, so it's really up to him to invest properly in his business.

i went there and i got the software which caused my troubles, hehehe. s@tkid was saying that they are actually posting fake files so that if you upgrade your receiver, it won't work and you will be forced to pay them 5$ to fix it.

Your card is a clone/oem of Twinhan vp-1020(blue) old card. If you look at the back side of your card, you will find something "VP-1020" or VP-1022.

For those who are using PCI DVB cards, may I know you use it for personal (as sat hobby, hunting etc hookup to a small tv only watch by yourself) OR do you actually move your pc to sitting room to replace a normal decorder for family use?
Is pc + pci dvb = dreambox in terms of capabilities (not in terms of physical size).

when i had my dvb card before, i use it mostly for hobby, i don't watch that much satellite on it. but sometimes, i used to hook up my pc tv-out and watch it on tv (if my wife is watching something else on the dsr-stb). i was fascinated by the idea of cracking sat codes myself, but until now, im still groping in the dark and far far away from learning even the most basic of how the emulators work.
as for your question of comparing dreambox to the dvb, i can say, it's almost comparable in a sense that there's an awful lot you can do with a dvb card if you know how to use it, same with dreambox.
in the long run, it all comes down to ease of use, upgradability of software and more flexible functions. all of which you can get from both the pc dvb and hardware dreambox. and aside from dreambox, there are a lot of other dsr out there that are comparable in nature and performance, if not, surpassing that of dreambox or dvb cards.

Agree with you on ease of use and upgradebility. I remember before RDI was attack, there was a post saying PCI DVB and dreambox never expire because they are running with computer software. That's how I start to have interest in these two.

Sorry for a delay reply, S2Emu can take these values (n1,e1,vk) from softcam.key file or from rom.bin if it is not present. Not sure, have to give it a try.
