if your pc dvb card has the CAM slot, why not? so far v2.5 is not hacked publicly via emus, so is irdeto2, seca2. nagra2 is already widely hacked and implemented on most software emus. as for you in south east asia, you may avail of other packages, especially those in irdeto2 transmission via card sharing. the only thing with card sharing and its community is that you have to share something in return. no leechers allowed.

@Boknoy,Hi m8 didn,t realise you where multitalented, used rdi for browsing for a long time(key updates) and never used the dvb section till I got a ss2 pci card for christmas. It has kept me busy and away from metaware.
At the moment I have progdvb 4.71.4,s2emu1.21 and as video codecs elecard package and nvidia pure video decoder. The nvidia codec makes this an outstanding experience and can even view HD from astra 19 east,Obviously I have a couple of problems. With the above set up I d/loaded the latest progdvb 4.71.5,on restart the progdvb engine didnt recognise the nvidia codec, the same issue is if you havent registered the elecard codec.I have not had this problem with previous updates, have not put the nvidia filter in the filter folder,as it is recognised automatically in the older version I am running,is there something I should have done at installation of the nvidia codec or is it just a missing command line in this latest version?
The other problem I have is an inability to record properly.Using WMP9 as the player I can only get smoothe video in pva not mpeg2,but in both modes no sound, help please.

these cards are dvb-t (terrestrial) and dvb-c (cable) compliant, no one is dvb-s (satellite), some of them have output as well as imput of dvb-c. These cards only works with digital cable tv or digital terrestrial tv.

thanks. I'll try when I get home.

Actually, I manage to figure out how to work w/ progdvb and its running OK now with 40% of CPU usage.

It is working with my splitter (fr. LNB to splitter to diseqc) when viewing from the same package such as TPS, both my receiver and Skyview is working fine. But if I selected another package, signal would be lost.

any solution to this? Or it is but normal...

Thanks

An AV input - is that means it is capable of capturing analog video? Check your documentation. If it is, then install proper drivers for the card. Once the drivers are installed properly, any video capturing program (virtualdub, for example) should be able to capture and record the video in AV format.

DVB software (like progdvb) can record only in Mpeg2 format. By the way, MPG2 (Mpeg2) is different from Mpeg1.

@seeme,

as for your query about the lost channels when you change frequency on either of your receiver, there is no workaround other than using a dual/twin out ku lnb (this is also for your safety). true, you can view channels residing on the same polarity and frequency, but you risk either your lnb or stb tuner if you persist in doing that kind of setup (using splitter on a single lnb).

SEEME
19th February 2006, 15:54
az30094,
Yes, Skyview (the one Ihave) is capable of capturing video. I was trying yesterday to change the format of recording from mpeg2 to NTSC video CD but the software provided by the DVB card keeps giving error (when doing the change). I think its because the souce is digital and not analog? Its from a Sony Video Cam.

Thank boknoy for the valuable info, I'll change tonight to twin LNB. Its Hotbird. but I cant figure out the position of the LNB. Is it 7 o'clock?

Best regards,

the solution to that is not to use progdvb. i get headaches with progdvb.

yes, you can use several lnb's on a single dish, depending on your location. here in mideast, i get 4 satellites on a single dish. i think you have to use different dishes on asian beams as the satellite footprints are not in proximity to each other. or you can use a motor instead to control the dish.

Hi Sir boknoy,
Just want to copy your setup of 4 sat on 1 dish if I may...

I have hotbird, nilesat & arabsat only..

If not too much to ask, can i have the guidelines too..

Thank a lot.

there is nothing to see now on atlantic bird3 5w, which is an offset of nilesat 7w (just move your lnb towards lower left) unless you are a subscriber of TFC.

goto setup menu and change filter graph one by one till you get the picture. if no picture is shown on all graphs then try installing InterVideo WinDVD or Cyberlink PowerDVD and then try again. This will work for sure.

The problem is i don't get a signal from any Astra 2 TP ..... it's a quatto LNB and the other output is being used on a Dreambox where it working nice and fine so that means he signal is OK but nothing in ProgDVB ...... strange thing is when i start original software i get signal on Astra 2 but when i use ProgDVB i don't get any signal !!!!!!!

But i need ProgDVB coz i'm running CS with dreambox so can anyone who had similat problems give an advice

Whew!...,After spending two hours of setting the correct combination between video/audio decoder & renderer, I think I finally get the setting that works best.

It took me sometime since not only that there are many option in the list of video/audio decoder and at least 3 in video/audio rendered, but most of all I did not pay attention to the AutoGraph message error. Otherwise, I should have done it more quickly.

When AutoGraph message error says “can’t connect” to a filter that is in the Audio decoder, it means, selected video decoder is fine and will work with the correct Audio decoder, so only Audio decoder must be changed.

However, ProgDvb seemed more stable in my system. When watching FTA channel, CPU Usage is merely between abt 25-35%, pay channel, is abt 45-65%. In my theatre, its reaching 99% and while this progress bar for timeshift is running from left to right, the picture stays freeze most of the time.

Is there other settings to correct this? here is my config
P4 1.7Mhz, 640MB RAM
32 MB Nvidia AGP
Intel 865 chipset

My only problem in ProgDvb is when recording. The picture tends to pixelized every now and then and I already loaded the progdvb intel enhancement.

I hope there are solutions to this. I want to try DVBDream but the error I get is "Harware is not initialized."

Thank you.

Well, I finally found a way on how to make recording in progDVB without pixeled picture problem. But it maybe applicable in my system only.

in the settings option "use only first PCU " must be unchecked and priority must be Realtime.

However, I must always enter settings option and click OK before recording. Otherwise, the same problem happen even above settings are saved.

I wonder why...

boknoy_ph

that's because recording via dvb-s without onboard decoder takes a lot of cpu cycles (this is where expensive SS1 and hauppauge nexus-s comes in handy).

well, the satellite internet being referred to in this thread is the data grabbing options using the pc dvb-s card on a pc. no control over which file gets downloaded (if any) since we are merely eavesdropping on somebody else's legal connection. it's good that you have a 2-way internet satellite at your disposal, nice bandwidth. here in mid-east, you can avail of 2way internet via satellite through showtimearabia on nilesat, gulfstream on NSS6 and soon, orbit on arabsat. i don't know of other packages covering other areas, perhaps other members can shed light on that for you.

i am really very sorry that you guys are having troubles with your remote control. i was able to make my techisat 1020 work with the remote before, using winlirc and progdvb. here's what i did (trying to recall from memory, so please bear with me).

1. install winlirc (of course)
2. execute winlirc. there may be some errors, especially it will complain that it failed to initialise, click Ok anyway.
3. configure winlirc. look for technisat.cf. it will analyse it and should declare that it was a success.
4. click Ok again to mimimize the winlirc to the system tray. test your winlirc accepts the command from your remote by pressing ANY button, the color should change to green whenever you press ANY key on the remote control unit.
5. open your progdvb with winlirc plugins installed and running.
6. open the winlirc plugin settings. go to configure, you should not find any entries from there.
7. you may now add whatever you wish to the remote control to do, such as vol up (correspond this to the remote button on your unit).
8. after having your remote control configured, clicked on "apply". your progdvb should now respond to your commands.

as for mytheatre, you can use MTremote. i configured my MTremote before to simply use the channel numbers as listed to shift channels as the "channel up" and "channel down" buttons shift whole transponder channels. could be a bad configuration from my end, i really don't know. now, some folks have said that DVBViewer and winlirc works wonderfully, i did not try that though. there is also a third party software that works with progdvb but you have to pay for it, and i did not find any cracks for that program either on the internet (besides, i forgotten the name already). now, if you want your RC unit to control other programs, then you may opt for Girder (it's not free i think), but you can try it if you want.

anyhow, i'll try to remember some more of those years past when i still had my pc dvb with me. or if you are willing, send me your units and i will try it here to make it work, then i will tell you the exact steps. how's that for an offer, lol.

@aqeel,

i know that you cannot live with your dvb-s card, lol. anyway, try reinstalling progdvb with winlirc client support, then follow the steps as mentioned above exept steps 5-6. just configure your winlirc client with progdvb running. or visit www.progdvb.com for the winlirc plugins.

@boknoy

thanks for your reply.

but the thing is that my skystar USB is working fine with DVB viewer from technisat CD. I also updated the latest driver from the technisat website. Unfortunately the problem is that my skystar USB is not working with 3rd party software like progdvb, altdvb, dream and mytheater even after upgrading the driver.

i doubt that skystar 2 driver for these 3rd party software is compatible with skystar USB. my sky star USB is the newest model from technisat.

@alibaba,

during installation of progdvb, the first screen allows you to select the audio source and your dvb card. make sure you select the technisat skystar 2 pci/usb as your hardware.

Sky Star USB

@boknoy and Saed

I was still not able to figure out the problem with my sky star USB. i did re-installation and update of driver but it is still not working with 3rd party software. I think it is diffirent from the "sky star 2 USB" device. the one one i have is "sky star USB" which is the latest model from technisat. the thing here is that this Sky Star USB device is working perfectly with DVB viewer.

to those RDI member that has sky star USB please share your knowledge regarding 3rd party software like Alt DVB and progdvb.

boknoy_ph
26th March 2006, 20:38
my mistake, i was thinking you have the skystar 2 that's why i suggested you reinstall the drivers. so far, skystar usb is not supported on progdvb/mytheatre/etc. you may have to wait for these 3rd party apps to support your device or look for bda compatible drivers and then use bda installation for progdvb.

install the latest drives from technisat.com (ver 4.3.2) and while installing ProgDVB select SkyStar-2/USB, similarly configure MT to use SkyStar-2 during installation, Complete MT includes drives for it but are not updated.

I was wondering if there are any satellite internet providers on Hotbird or Nilesat or Amos.
( someone to offline download from using FileGrabber or so )

If so, anyone knows their freq. and PIDs ?

Is it working there for anyone?

fact: your output is as good as your source. so if your camera is designed for TV quality, then don't expect it to have a real DVD resolution when you burn it to DVD and play on your hardware.

Bro. boknoy i just buy a DVD writer and i want your help. my mpeg2 files if i converted it to DVD using nero it say that the file is to big. How can i reduce the file so the whole movie will fit to one DVD. Thank you

how big is your file? try TmpGenc to cut your video into several sections, then use X2D by bitburner to convert to DVD compliant format and burn away. Roxio's Easy CD creator is better in authoring DVD's compared to Nero.

if you have ss-2 then it should work for you. try the follwoing.

- extract the download file on the pc with SS-2 installed. click on NSVServer folder and there double click on reg_dsnet and then reg_mpeg2data, this will register the proper dll/ax files. now run the NSVServer and select your satellite and then transponder and click on Statr.

- Now on each client computer, open NSVPlayer folder, and there double click on reg_dsnet and then reg_mpeg2data, this will register the proper dll/ax files. Now run the NSVPlayer1.0 and select connect, after few seconds you will see the channels which are displayed on server PC. now you can select any channel and watch. Repeat this method on all client.

Remember you have have double-click reg_dsnet and reg_mpeg2data only once or click them till you see dsnet and mpeg2data successfully registered.

If you donot see any picture in client Player, try installing InterVideo WinDVD, Cyberlink PowerDVD or elecard codec or any other MPEG-2 software decoder.

Use the video/audio output of the computer's sound card, and you can use your TV or Stereo system.
All parameters that one can set on a table top receiver can be set on the software, such as the LO of the LNB, DiSEqC controls and 22 KHz tone, as well as 13/18 volts for LNBFs.

Dear saed,

Yes let us continue here,

ORBIT - VP1030 - do you know the website of this product - as it is cheap here compare to Twinham Vision plus?

Is there any thing new (other than the STB) can we watch more scrambled channels than STB- I think you might have replied several times in the same thread - but there more than 50 pages - to read all those pages it may take a month, by the time my fund (for DVB card)will be lapsed - so can you give some updates?

there is no website of Orbit VP-1030, this card is Twinhan VP-1030 only box is Orbit brand. you can know more about this card and its features, drivers etc at http://www.twinhan.com

it is more flexible than normal STB, you can compare it with Dreambox, whenever there is a new channel hack, just download the plugin and put it in your software. thats all.

You can directly record programs to your hard disk and later you can burn to VCD or DVD.

It can be used for 1-way satellite internet and offline data grabbing also.

SkyStar-2 rev.2.3 have auto S/R feature, can be used for Feed hunting, no other STB have this feature.

yes SkyStar-2 is cheaper than Twinhan with CI , but best in performance. Rev.2.3 is no more sold now, it might the rev.2.6D or 2.6C which is available. go for skystar-2, dont hesitate.

Dear,

Successfully installed card/drvr/and progdvb soft - but none of the channels are appearing.

I have 3 Dish - 2 KU Band(Hotbird and NSS) and 1 C Band(Insat2E) all are working through DISEQC switch(4 in 1), and exactly the same way(I assume) I configured under 1.0 or 2.0 switch section - but still no picture after scanning.

The cable works when I connect back to my STB.

Please advise - what is wrong here?

If channels are scanned and channels appear in the list but there is no Video, then try these methods
1. re-install ProgDVB and while installing click on the option "Use elecard codec for soft-mode" and try then.
2. Install any one of InterVideo WinDVD, Cyberlink PowerDVD, elecard MPEG-2 codec or any other MPEG-2 software codec.
Picture will be shown.

If there is no scanning of channels appear at all then remove your DiSEqC switch and connect cable directly to the card and then scan the channels.

If you can see FTA channels but not encrypted channels then dont forget to put s2emu and/or other plugins alongwith latest softcam.key file in C:\progdvb folder.

YES, ProgDVB is not efficient enough to deal with DiSEqC switches. Try to scan the channels on the satellite which you have connected on DiSEqC A port. if it also doesnot work then directly connect the cables.

If ProgDVB is not your solution with DiSEqC the try other apps like MyTheatre, ALT-DVB etc

@ Anver

In ProgDVB, you can see the signal level before doing a scan. Just go to "Scan transponder", select a valid transponder, its frequency, SR rate and polarity, and you should see two red bars each indicating quality and signal level.

As for Diseq setting, you have rightly selected the 1.0 or 2.0 option. After this, you have to manually add the satellites (upto 4) and assign them the appropriate ports.

In my experience, ProgDVB is the most user friendly software available that works with least hassles.

Dear Saed,

I don't know whats wrong, I even purchased a Dual LNB(one straight cable to DVB and one cable to DISEqC) for Hotbird and connected directly to DVB card but still nothing - no signal, but the direct cable works well with STB. SkyStar task bar icon itself shows "no signal", the driver identified properly and showing in the device manager under network adapter. - Card can be faulty - No I don't think., can I expose the pigtail of the cable a little bit out, may be it is touching to the F connector - can it be?. (but the same works with STB)

The card comes with a serial donkle/port - not sure what for that? (I even tried with and without)

1. Cyberlink PowerDVD or InterVideo WinDVD

3. any other MPEG-2 codec, search on free-codecs.com

all Premium cards like SkyStar-1, Haupauge Nexus-S, Technotrend Premium etc allready have video output, you can connect to your TV or any video server.
for more such hardware youc an search google for "video survilance" or "video server" or "video distributors" and add the word "over TCP/IP" to search these things with TCP/IP support.

@ Anver

I am writing my experience so that this might help you.

My first purchase of the SS2 did not work at all. All my efforts and updates and technical browsings did not produce any positive results. Finally, I took it back to the vendor for a replacement. He got it checked with his technician and found it indeed was FAULTY. So he replaced the card with a working one that worked in first shot.

May be yours is also faulty too. If it is new, then better get it checked with the vendor and ask for a replacement, else, try with a friend who has got a good working setup.

Good luck.

saed
18th May 2006, 01:14
i've installed over 20 ss-2 cards (for acquaintance and friends) and never got a faulty card. but it happens, just get it checked with your seller to be sure if nothing works at all.

if you card is properrly installed in windows and detected by Progdvb and other software then it is not a faulty card, most probably a faulty tuner inside, which is a very rare case with SS-2 cards.

check everything again and you can do it. try using DVBViewer software which you got in the CD alongwith the card.

Yes, Fianlly it worked, the problem was the last statement of my reply, as you said I peel it little bit, then the pin got-out longer in F connector. Yes the signals are there - Thank you very much for your support.

Well It took a lot to FAVOR my channels as a list, it ended up just the "Champions League" match and watched through "SLOTV2", that was a good experiment. But I noticed one thing, that the signal delivery are 4-5 seconds slow than the STB, I could not notice this at first, when "Campbell" made his first goal for Arsenal - The TV was showing the ball in the net, but in the PC "Henry" was just taking the kick.

Ok now I required the Elecard 2 Decoder, that I just downloaded now, but DVB is working even without that since there is a prompt before to open the channels.

SkyStar-2 itself is not able to open ******-2 channels yet with any plugin, except Cardsharing. and when it goes to cardsharing, you can use it with your humax also without opting it into SkyStar-2.

dear shehbaz,
you have allmost done, on server, if you click on any channel, its small icon will change and it means you allow this channel to be broadcast. after this procedure, innsv client you can play only those channels which you have allowed/clicked in server.

.... that the signal delivery are 4-5 seconds slow than the STB, ...
thats no wonder, it is because of less efficient tuner inside all budget pc dvb cards, they signal handling is not better than premium cards or normal receivers/stb.

Normally you donot require and elecard codec, because it is allready there in ProgDVB, when you install progdvb, elecard is automatically install. Just in case if it is not working due to any reason, download it and install it again.

This is becuase of the buffering option of the viewer program. ProgDVB has 3 options - can be either disabled, in memory, or in hard disk. When the PC speed, memory and other resources are not up to the mark, or if you are running other resource hungry programs along side, the picture may get jerky. This option is to take care of this situation. Enable memory option, if you have plenty of RAM in your computer. The hard disk option is also ok.

I have disabled it fully, because, when I am watching an interesting program, I stop running all other programs, and when I am watching news or other not so interesting programs, I don't mind a little jerk in the picture.

Expriment with different options and post your results and let other get benefit out of your exprimentation.

Good luck.

21st May 2006, 01:42
that is called Time Shifting, allways disable it and while watching a channel if sound/video is not synchronised or if you feel that the feed is coming little late just click the "Forward >>" button at bottom of Video. it will refresh the time shift buffer and will re-synch the live video.

softcam.key is the text file which stores latest keys to decrypt channels. put it alongwith the plugins like s2emu or vPlug, in the same folder. either in Progdvb main folder or under plugins folder.

az30094

Time Shifting and Buffering are two different things. Time Shifting uses Buffering, but Buffering is also used for other things too (like data caching).

I am filipino of nationality i am going on vacation this coming November. I want to bring Technisat Skystar2 original made in Germany but here in my place Hail, Saudi Arabia only available SS2 are all made in china. Can you help me to avail SS2 v2.6d which is made in Germany. Many thanks.

@ totingPh...

it doesnt matter whether what your ss2 made. actually i have here which is made in china and one germany which is same no difference at all. both can handle progdvb, my theather, dvb players. Try to used DVB for it is more stable and less cpu consumption.... have a nice vacation soon.

@lakaypogi,
thanks for the information, perhap i should go for made in china. You mean DVBdream is more stable and less CPU usage compare to Prog DVB and ALT-DVB. But many says that ProgDVB is more stable in Dream TV AU, im confused now which is which? Can you give me some idea on how to orient the dish for Dream TV using the SS2 under ProgDVB? Because here in saudi if i am orienting my antenna im not using satfinder im using only my stb to shoot the bird.

Yeah better go for it m8. yes some says Prog DVB and ALT-DVB are much better.. but my experience in using DVBdream qualifies and justify my claims. I have been using that player but haven’t encountered any problems at all… for dish alignment for dream TV… position your dish to 118 degrees east. Lnb position between 7-8 oclock ( you have to face dish to get dish) dish elevation 55-60 degrees..tune in to 12541 H, 25600 which is the highest peak and center beam signal.

filipino kah kabayan ?
SS-2 is only made by technisat, germany. there is no other SS-2 from china or any other country. If it is made in China, it is not SS-2, it might be a clone/OEM of Twinhan.
I am not sure about hail but if you have a branch of Al-shadadi Computers in Hail, you can find original SS-2 there. Or buy it from Riyadh or ask anybody in Riyadh to buy for you.

I unzipped vPlug 0.8.8 into the plugins folder of ProgDVB. I keep getting the message Op key is incorrect. Update your softcam key.

The files that are unzipped in vPlug do not match the list of files mentioned in the readme.txt file. Apart from softcam.key where do the other missing files come from? I tried using Show Monitor but need a lot of information before any of it will make sense. For example, what is an AES key?

you must update your softcam key.you can download it from http://www.croteam-sat.org/aploud/index.php but first you need to register. if you are online, your v-plug version 8.8 will search for the right AES key. :)

Use one plugin at a time, Disable all other. in Plugin menu click on Enable or Active to enable/disable a plugin. then it will not crash any more.
vPlug allways sarches for a new key form internet, if it doesnot find it in softcam.key. You better put the latest softcam.key file in Progdvb folder.

Thanks for all the info to get me to the point of being able to watch TV but I can't quite master the final step of autoupdating.

I have been getting the required softcam key code from the Messages section of this site and editing the softcam key file by copying and pasting.

This works fine as long as I find the active key. But I just can't get vPlug to update automatically. I have an ADSL connection but vPlug doesn't seem to update automatically and I am not expert enough to force it to update.

When it does work does update occur via the internet or via the satellite signal?

There is no tutorial you can found about V-plug you only do is to place it inside the folder plugins of your ProgDVB just what saed told before and you can view the encrypted channels.

Hi nivram

You need not edit your softcam files. You can find latest softcam files in any of the upload sites. I suggest the following site, where it gets updated twice in a day.

Good luck and happy viewing.

just to be safe, put the .ax files on windows/system32 and do regsvr32 /s nameofcodec.ax and hit enter. do this for both the audio and video codecs. once installed, configure progdvb to use the internal codecs. or you may opt to use the grapheditor and make your own filtergraphs as not all filtergraph will correspond to your installed codecs. per experience, i find the nvidia codecs to be more stable and less cpu load compared to other codecs.

I tired using the complete plugin (s2emu, vplug, etc) but before I was able to "disable" other plugin to use one at a time, my pc crash after running progdvb. I re-install progDVB successfully and have scanned the channels. However, when selecting any channels even FTA, the CPU usage runs up to 100% the my pc crash in a few seconds.

After trying many hours to see what's seems to be the problem, the tried watching mpeg2 file using power DVD. But the same problem uccurs. I suspected that the necessary component for playing mpeg2 file is missing. So I reinstall power DVD but even reinstalling it would use 100% of my CPU and my pc would hang. However, installing other software does not give any problem.

Can anyone have the same experience and help me with the solution?

at first, it is free to air. but with the help of plugins like s2emu, yankse and fenrir, it becomes a ppv card able to view channels like what you usually have on ordinary boxes. but there's more, this card can be connected to a network via your pc and install the wincs plugin to be able to access the card sharing servers. we can say the pc dvb-s devices are the poor man's alternative to dreambox and others. as for internet, you may wish to subscribe or do PID hunting, albeit i have heard so much complaints about people not being able to properly tune to a data streaming broadcast.

the plugins can be found on this forum, under mach1 files. for use with internet, it is limited as you do not control the files being downloaded, you simply ride-on with the data stream and catch whatever is being processed at the time. or you may wish to subscribe to a provider and do it that way.

25th June 2006, 03:07
Thank you for reply, What do you mean by premium cards ?

premium=expensive. have a look at nexus-s. these are hardware based mpeg2 decoders, so your pc cpu will have less to process while watching satellite channels (and recording) whereas ss2 and other "cheap" alternatives will take the cpu cycle off your own pc for the mpeg2 processing. so unless you have a 2.4G+ or higher cpu specs, you will be stuck on watching satellites and not able to do anything more, most of the time. most of these pci dvb-s devices will eat up approximately 40% of your cpu cycle once working, it's all a mix of dvb software and the codecs you use to maximise your cpu power and minimise as much as possible the cycles used while watching channels.

Saed is compiling a comprehensive "how-to" on card sharing, just wait for his announcement. and based on your profile, you are in Cebu? try looking at the spider network thread and see if somebody from asia is doing cardsharing with UBC, etc. only drawback is you have to share something back, otherwise, no connection to the servers, lol. as for the plugins, look at the main page of RDI and click on DVB-S links (skystar, etc) the files are there.

The correct procedure to install any USB device is
- Install drivers using provided CD
- Connect the device. Windows detects and installs the correct driver
If SP2 is still asked, then there may not any other choice to install it.

If the device is not recognized after the above steps, you can do the following:
- Start Device Manager.
- Disable the device (it is corrct that it lists under Network adapters).
- Enable the device again.

This should, hopefully should solve your problem.

Your PCI TV Card is an Analog tv reception card over classic/terrestrial antenna, won't support digital tv reception over satellite or digital cable. Your card also support analog cable input.

PIP only works with the channels on same Transponder. All channels in one transponders can be shown in different PIP Windows. If channels are encrypted and can be opened with any plugin than you have to copy those plugin in all pip folders under dvbdream\plugins\pip folders, pip0, pip1, pip2 and so on.

You can make use of your TV Antenna connection for connecting your receiver output (the cable you connect to your TV). This way, you can watch and record the TV programs in your PC. What you see in your PC will be the same as what you have selected in the receiver.

For connecting satellite input directly to your PC, you need a DVB card like Skystar, etc.

Thanks. however, I'm not always connected to the internet and would only do so, thru dial up. besides, while vplug is looking for the right key in the softcam before it tries the internet, My pc would also crash.

So what I would do is to get the info on one side where I can see the working key as well as which position of AES key in the softcam. if the key changes, it would show "incorrect key" but would still work for a few second. Then I would change the channel immediately to any FTA. That way my PC would not crash. However, this method is annoying.

Anyway, I was thinking if someone would make a softcam with all possible AES keys (I mean all probable combination of characters) so we dont have to connect to the internet...That would be a lot but its worth it especially to those who does not have internet.

Well, I do have another problem. Everytime, TPS changes its keys and the S2Emu didn't find any correct keys in the softcam, My pc would crash. I have to restart and get the correct keys from the internet.

Any solution is appreciated. Thank you. I'm using progDVB.

Try an alternate viewer. I like Alt-DVB - a feature rich, light weight and a fast viewer.

Thanks az30094. But my DVB card is SkyView. Alt DVB does not support it I think since I see file for SS2, twinhan, pinnacle only.
